Essential Oils
Essential Oils are natural compounds drawn from plants. They are called Essential Oils as they represent the plant’s ‘essence’ – it’s smell and flavor. They are obtained by cold pressing the plant to extract the oils, or by steam or water distillation. If the oil is created with chemical compounds or processing, they are not considered true essential oils.
Oils can be used alone or in combination and are inhaled through some form of aromatherapy or absorbed through the skin. The oils stimulate the limbic system of your brain, this system influences sense of smell, long-term memory, behaviors, and emotions.
