Self-Improvements Made Easy
We hear a lot about transforming or improving ourselves. This happens a lot when we are younger and more flexible, and then again as we get older. You may not have as much energy as when you were younger, but you’ve already faced many of life’s battles, so you are up for a challenge. If you are concerned about making changes, don’t worry. We are going to make self-improvement easy, no matter what your age. Here are some ideas you can implement:
#1 Think Positive
Start every day on a positive note. Wake up and be thankful for at least one thing. Then start to think about all the things you can accomplish. Don’t be afraid to dream. Think of each new milestone as a new beginning.
Â
#2 Complete What You StartÂ
If you start something, it is important that you finish it. If you are doing a home project set a goal to complete it from the day you start it. If you are reading a book, every day read a few pages. If you have chores to do get them done early and you can enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.
#3 Face Your FearsÂ
We all like to stay in our comfort zone. Facing our fears can be challenging and can even be terrifying. But if you try to do something that makes you uncomfortable or fearful every day, you can push through those fears and grow.Â
#4 Exercise Every Day
You need to exercise every single day. Exercising will not only make you healthier and stronger, it will also make you look good, and you will feel good.
#5 Read Books on Self Improvement
Reading is a great escape and a great way to gain new knowledge – especially on a subject that is new to you. Reading books on self-improvement will increase your knowledge on the subject and will give you a different view of yourself and how to make improvements.
#6 Loose the Bad HabitÂ
We all have a bad habit or two, and we all know people who can bring out those bad habits in us. The time has come to let the bad habits and toxic relationships go. Make a conscious effort to loses those bad habits and surround yourself with the kind of people that will bring out the best in you. Develop habits and find friends that are healthy for you.
There you have it in six easy to implement ideas that can help you with your self-improvement.
So, start now but avoid the following cliches.
Cliché #1- Get out of your comfort zone.
Some say that to improve you must get out of your comfort zone. This indicates making some sort of change, but making a change is easier said than done. Instead of jumping out of your comfort zone to make a change, start with baby steps towards change. Walk, don’t run to change, ease into it. Make sure you are comfortable with each step before you move on.Â

Â
ClichĂ© #2 – Follow your dreams.
You have been told more than once to just follow your dreams. It’s easy to say follow your dreams, but to actually do it takes a lot of work. To make matters worse, the self-help industry overvalues the idea of following your dreams, so much that we feel like if we aren’t following our dreams, we are doing something wrong is not true. Vision boards, meditation, and the Law of Attraction are all buzz words. The bottom line is if you choose to follow your dreams you better have a plan and set some realistic milestones to make those dreams happen.Â
Â
ClichĂ© #3 – Get over your fears.
Fear is designed to alert you. It stops you from jumping off a perfectly good bridge. So, fear is not necessarily bad, unless it keeps you from accomplishing something in your life. But you cannot just wish or speak your fears away and have them disappear. Fears are real and trying to let go of your fears is downright scary. The best way to try to conquer your fear is to understand your fear, face it, allow yourself to feel afraid, but do it anyway. When you find the root of your fear, you can determine whether that fear is rational or not. Not all fears are bad. Fearing poisonous snakes is a good fear but being paralyzed because you fear them is something you can overcome.Â
Â
ClichĂ© #4 – Quit your job.
There should be a second part to the “Quit your job” statement and that is, “Only if you have something better.” Quit your job if it makes sense. Quitting your job without thinking it through is just plain stupid. You will very quickly miss your paycheck and the benefits from working. A better way to deal with an unfulfilling job is to learn to block out the negative aspects. Reinforce the positive aspects and things you are learning from that job, and search for something more fulfilling – while you are employed!
So, avoid these common cliches about self-improvement and focus on the six easy steps for self-improvement. Doing so is the best plan of attack for your own self-help and self-improvement goals.
